Give it up…. or post photos

After struggling hard to keep this blog alive, I finally had to decide whether to give it up or to change it. The original idea with the blog was to share our experiences of moving to Ireland, and our life here. I wanted to travel in the area and show you beautiful places, where to find the best coffee or all the enjoyable things to do in West Cork. After finally getting some free time back, the pandemic came, and obviously it wasn’t possible to do any of that. Because of that, I’ve lost all inspiration to write and I have absolutely no ideas of what to share that would be interesting and what I would enjoy writing about. What exciting news would I have from around here? That the pubs did NOT reopen this Monday, and that this week I will try some kale instead of beetroots when I buy from the vegetable farmer? I have nothing interesting to say because nothing in particular happens here. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it isn’t very interesting to write (or to read) about!

So since I have absolutely no intention of giving up this blog, it’s time to change it to fit the times we live in. When life is slow you have time to play music, learn new things… and take photos.
I’ve taken a ridiculous amount of photos in the garden this spring and summer, and I plan to go for more walks and take more photos.

To use this space for something decent, I’ll do what usually works for me, I’m going to use it to share some of my photos. When I have no stories to tell, at least I have photos, and you can follow our life in Ireland through them. This may even make me take more photos of daily life, and work more on improving the quality of my photos.
We’re not travelling this year, not even to other areas of Ireland, but will be doing road trips so you will still see some of West Cork!

What I do have news about is music. But that’s a topic that will suit best on a separate website (we have some really cool things going, to be honest!). Coming soon…

I have a new theme, because the one I had suits better elsewhere (plus I didn’t want to buy another license for it). Please let me know if something isn’t set up correctly.

Take care and stay safe out there.

I am so glad to hear that you are not giving it up. And your photos are beautiful so I am looking forward to seeing more of them. Even the spiders. I am starting to be able to look at them more and more and so I am actually looking forward to them and your other photos. And if you ever feel like writing again then at least the blog is still here and hopefully, the pandemic will eventually give way, but for now, it seems like this is our new normal in so many places. I am not sure how I feel about it but I am making the most of it by exploring locally more and more and spending time with family.

Thanks for always being such a loyal reader/visitor! You’re one of those who inspire me to keep on blogging.
And of course I’m happy to hear that you’re ready for some spiders. 😁 I have lots of spiderwebs on my shrubs along the stone wall and have been trying to take some good photos of them. No great success yet but some of the photos are quite nice. And no closeups yet, so they will be good for you to practice looking at spiders!
